About Tofu Vault
What does it do?
At its core, we act as a guardian between two parties looking to swap a file for money. We have tied this to a smart contract to protect both parties.
How does it work?
We create a smart contract between a seller and buyer that acts as a guardian. Once it's fulfilled, we unlock the files.
Is it free?
No, but it's highly accessible. To upload a file, you will only need to pay the contract fee.
How is the contract split?
We charge a fee of 1-3%, which depends on both the transaction amount and the current balance in the vault. This approach is implemented to prevent an empty vault, which could render the app non-operational. The fees are essential for covering app costs, primarily related to storage.
How will the file be unlocked?
Once the payment is completed, the smart contract will be fulfilled, and the files will be automatically unlocked by the vault.
Are files stored forever?
No, the files and their access URLs have an expiration date to free up space for new ones. Currently, it's fixed at 48 hours, but it could change. You can check this at the file URL provided when uploading a file.
What network does it use?
We use the Polygon network because of its low fees.
How can I trust you?
We are very transparent with all our expenses and swaps. You can see the created contract and review it. Also, here is the address of the account that operates the app.
Is it open source?
No, at the moment, it will be. First, we need to ensure how to prevent bad actors and abuse.
